Hi everyone. I’ve had a few messages on my Instagram(@thatrebeccarose) asking how I add sparkles to my photos so I thought I’d share with you how I add them in this blog post. Recently, I’ve been LOVING editing my photos, I honesly think it’s one of my favourite parts of blogging. You can get so many cool apps and there are countless YouTube tutorials on how to edit photos in different ways:you can really get creative. I’ve seen quite a lot of people advertising using Adobe Photoshop to add sparkles to photos, but I actually just use an app. Although it probably doesn’t as professional, it is completely free to use and literally takes 5 minutes to do. That being said, here is a step-by-step guide to how I edit sparkles into my pictures. Enjoy!
Step 1 – Download PicsArt
This is the app I use to add sparkles to my picures. It’s completely free and I just downloaded it from the app store.
Step 2 – Click On The Brush Tool
This is where you can start adding all the sparkles.
Step 3 – Add The Big Sparkles To Your photo
I added these along the bottom but you can play about with how you place them. I also increased the opacity and size slightly.
Step 4 – Add The ‘Blurred Lights’ To Your Photo
I have no idea how to describe this next effect but I just call them the ‘blurred lights’. I like the add these in the corners of my photo.
Step 5 – Zoom In and Add Smaller Sparkles
I always like to zoom into my photo a bit and add smaller details and sparkles to where there are fairy lights.
Step 6 – Play Around With The Rest of The Brush Effects
I then play around with a few fo the other brush tools until I’m happy with the finished results. I then save the photo and I’m ready to upload on Instagram!
