Autumn Essentials

September 16, 2017

I thought I’d do a blog post on some of my Autumn essentials – any excuse for a flat lay! Here are a few things that spring to mind when I think of Autumn. I love it when it starts to get colder and the nights draw in. It feels so cosy especially with blankets and candles! I also like cosying up in front of the fire and watching Hocus Pocus – any excuse to watch a film.

I find that in Autumn my lips and hands start to get really dry. When I found this autumnal Baby Lips I got a bit too excited! They are really moisturising but also have a gorgeous colour and are in autumnal colours – what more could you want?! For my hands I either use a Crabtree&Evelyn hand cream or, if my hands are in real need of nourishment, I use Lanolips Golden Ointment. Even though it feels like sticky honey on you hands when you put it on, it works so well and your hands feel soo soft afterwards. Those two are my favourites but I usually have hand cream everywhere:my bedside table, my desk, my bag – the list goes on! One of my favourite things about Autumn is candles. I’ve built up quite a collection of them over the years. My favourite candle at the moment is Pumpkin Allspice which I got from Homesense. It smell AMAZING – it makes my mouth water every time I smell it! Homesense always have the best candles/ festive decorations, it’s probably one of my fav shops. I’m not really sure if these are essentials, but I thought I’d include them anyway. I picked up some cinnamon flavoured chewing gum and ice breakers from an American Candy shop and I’m in love! They taste like an autumn candle in a nice way – trust me you’ll love them! DSC_0861

In Autumn I love cozying up and when I spotted these cute slippers in Tesco’s I thought they would be perfect. They are super fluffy and look like a cute fox! I also got a pair of over-the-knee socks which I thought would be great to wear in the evenings when my feet get a bit chilly. I feel like in Autumn there is always a better selection of pyjamas in shops. I like to get a pair of festive pyjamas so when I found a pair of autumnal pyjamas in Next I couldn’t resist. They are super soft and comfy and will definitely keep you warm. They also have cute woodland creatures on them. I feel like Next have the softest pyjamas, they’re lovely to wear. You also NEED a pair of boots for Autumn. Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration but I LOVE boots! My favourite pairs are these heeled ones from H&M, they go with almost anything. DSC_0863

I love hot drinks in Autumn. There is something about having a hot chocolate in front of the fire that I absolutely LOVE! I’ve been loving chai lattes at the moment – they taste like Autumn in a cup. I also picked up this fox mug in Asda, I thought it would be perfect to have a chai latte in!

Here are some of my Autumn essentials. I have so many more but I don’t want to ramble on too much longer! This Autumn, I’m really looking forward to berry lips and pumpkin spice everything. What are your Autumn essentials? Are you looking forward to Autumn or are you more of a Summer person?
